Iain Burns - Chairman & Co-founder
Iain is one of the joint founders of HVL. He has held a number of top jobs for publicly quoted companies both in the publishing field and elsewhere. Amongst these are Group MD Macmillan Limited, CEO of The Stationery Office and CEO of the Aspen Group plc. Iain is responsible for overall strategy & direction, fundraising and the development of booklovershomepage and classicalmusichomepage. Iain is passionate about books and classical music.
Alan Murphy - Managing Director & Co-founder
Alan has spent his career in the technology industry, mainly as the chief technology officer for some major publishing organisations. Having spent his early career with the leading systems integrator - Cap Gemini and senior IT roles within a variety of financial services companies, Alan switched into the publishing industry and has held the posts of IT DIrector for Reed Business Information, Blackwells, Financial Times and Managing Director - Technology Services & CTO for The Stationery Office. Alan is responsible for the overall technology platform, project implementation, revenue generation and the development of LogontoArt. Alan is a passionate artist and photographer.
Mark Radcliffe - Director & General Counsel
Mark is the ex Group Company Secretary for Reed Elsevier plc. He is responsible for rights, permissions, contracts, regulatory, and legal matters. He is enjoying his retirement working harder than ever. Mark, who is a classical music enthiusiast and has been known to read the odd book or two, is also very active in developing our commercial relationships with supplier and partner companies.
Steve Whistlecroft - Commercial Director
Steve has spent his caeer in business development in the IT services industry for major companies including Cap Gemini, CSC, CGI and IBM. He has specialised in outsourcing and the media industry. He led Cap's involvement in launching Open Interacttive the worlds first commercial scale interactive TV platform and the launch of Blue Square the worlds first IDTV and multi-channel betting service. Steve is responsible for B2B Sales, Commercial partnerships, advertising and sponsorship. He is a dreadful but enthusiastic artist.
Paul Felton-Smith - Finance Director
Paul is an experienced finance director. His early years were spent as an accountant in the retail sector, mainly with the Burton Group. Later he spent several years as a recovery specialist at Ernst & Young and has more recently worked as an interim FD for Regent Inns, Asprey & Garrard, and Liverpool Victoria. He is Chartered Accountant and a member of the Society of Turnaround Professionals. Paul is responsible for finance, accounting, reporting & control systems.
